  1. Redecorating in Real Time

You may have noticed that things are changing here. Instead of shutting down while I do some cosmetic and structural changes I want to keep on writing.

I want to involve you in the process to and I want you healer-creative types to get a ‘behind the scenes’ peek at how to do this stuff within your own practice.

Instead of posting before and after pics (although I have taken some screen shots for posterity) I’ll be giving you insights and reasons about why certain changes are coming and why I’m making the choices I’m making.  It’s about my business and my life merging ever more gracefully (I hope) and making it easier for you to find what you want and need.

Today you’re looking at the very basics:

A big thank you to Lee Stranahan, who I’ve been more or less stalking on line for the last year.  We had an informative chat today — where I got to pick his brain, gain affirmation on a few things and have light bulbs pop on in my brain. Very satisfying.  So that’s where some of this change is coming from.

    1. I‘ve gone from 3 columns to 2. I think it’s easier to read and a few less distractions. Oh and I moved the column to the left of the screen.  Still not sure how I feel about that.
    2. I’m a reader and a writer. I like words.  I have always liked words.  What that translates to though?  WORDS crowding a page.  Yeah, yeah, I know a picture is worth a thousand of ‘em but I haven’t got enough pics on the landing page.  I’m working on it.
    3. Added an email sign up Box. From what I hear 762 is a pretty respectable email list (thank heavens, because I was feeling like a slacker) and we all know a list is a great way to build connections and of course, share insights, programs and projects.  But if I ever want to get to 800 subscribers (and hell yes, I DO!) it would be a good idea to make it easy  for you to subscribe.  So hopefully you will.  I promise it will be fun.
    4. Changed from a Static Welcome Page to having the posts (in synopsis) on the landing page.  You can still go to “Start Here” and you can see the welcome video in every page now.

    What’s coming?

    1. Logo/Style/Design. I’m talking to a few artist friends & clients to see what we can come up with as far as a stylized and consistent look – I’m thinking a funky hand of some sort should do it.  We’re still talking about it and when I narrow to 3 top choices I’ll be asking for your vote (another reason to stick around and YES – subscribe – so you can vote!)  on the winning logo and design.  It’s time I make my brand stand out – don’t you think?
    2. Separate sites for specific products and services.  In other words I’m going to get VERY NICHEY.  I’ve been cramming way too much in here since about week 4 (even after I promised myself that I’d keep this site streamlined).  It seems the more I clear out my office and my home the more I want to plug into one little site.  You deserve better than that and I intend to give it to you.
    3. All the varying sites will have a consistent style and theme – so you’ll know that it’s ME you’re dealing with – no matter what door you come through.  I really cherish the relationship I’m building with you and I don’t want  you to doubt for a minute that it’s the REAL ME you’ve got!
    4. More pictures and graphics. I’ll be working with my photographers to create more effective ways for you to feel like you are in the moment – I want you to get a feel for what it’s really like to have your hands read and learn how it helps you and your business.

This is all NOT going to happen over night.  In fact I suspect the full makeover and revamp to be complete early in 2011.

    Why?

Because I’m notorious for over-committing and it’s not right for me nor for you.  So I’ll just take my time and have fun in the process.  I’m learning to put my inner perfectionist on other tasks — like over-delivering on my upcoming Blogging program, Your Purpose IS Your Business Monthly Mastermind, Private consultations and more.

In the process I promise to tell you where I’m scared, where I’m holding back and what is making me crazy — as well as the parts that are easier than I expected and the measurable results I see in terms of dollars, readers and feedback.  So stick around and tell me what you think!
